Unlike most of the songs nowadays bein' written in Tin Pan alley
That's where most of the folksongs come from nowadays
This this is a song that wasn't written up there
This was written somewhere down in the United States.

Well the lone ranger an' Tonto
They're ridin' down the line
Fixin' everybody's troubles
Everybody's 'cept mine
Someone musta told 'em that i was doin' fine.

Oh you five an' ten cent women
With nothing in your heads
I got a real gal i'm lovin', lord
An' i'll love till i'm dead
Go 'way from my door an' my window too, right now.

Lord, i ain't goin' down to no race track
See no sportscar run
I don't have no sportscar
An' i don't even care to have one
I can walk anytime around the block.

Well, the wind keeps a-blowin' me
Up an' down the street
With my hat in my hand
An' my boots on my feet
Watch out so you don't step on me.

Well, look it here buddy
You wanna be like me
Pull out your six shooter
An' rob every bank you can see
Tell the judge i said it was all right. Yeah!  up

Bob Dylan's Blues 2

9 July 1962
cd imgTHE 50TH ANNIVERSARY COLLECTION

The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan session 3, Columbia Studio A, NYC - 9.jul.1962, take 2 CO75718-2

Well, i feel like runnin' down the Shenandoah
I got a home on the highway
I feel i'm bound to go
Bound to go, bound to go.

An' the lone ranger and Tonto
They are ridin' down the line
They're fixin' everybody's troubles
Everybody's 'cept mine
Somebody musta told 'em that i was doin' fine.

Oh you five and ten cent women
With nothin' in your heads
I got a real gal i'm lovin'
An' i'll love her till i'm dead
Go away from my door and my window too.

I ain't goin' down to no race track
See no sports car run
I don't have no sports car
Lord, i don't even wish to have one
I can walk all the way around the block.

I got a clock in my stomach
And a watch in my head
I'm a-tickin' so loud,
Lord, i'm gonna wound up dead
Yes, i will, no i won't, maybe i will.

Well, i gotta keep on a-goin'
Up an' down the street
With my hat in my hand
An' my boots on my feet
Here i come, here i go, come again.

Look it here buddy
You want to be like me
Pull out your gun
An' rob every bank you can see
Tell the judge i said it was all right. Yes!  up

cd imgTHROUGH A BULLET OF LIGHT (WITMARK DEMOS) (T-378)

Witmark Studio, NYC - april 1963

Well the lone ranger an' Tonto
Were ridin' down the line
Fixin' everybody's troubles
Everybody's 'cept mine
Someone musta told 'em that i was doin' fine.

I feel like runnin'
Down the shinin' door
I got a lonely highway
I'm feelin' i'm bound to go
Bound to go, bound to go, bound to go.

Oh you five an' ten cent women
With nothin' in your heads
I got a real gal i'm lovin', lord
An' i'll love till i'm dead
Go 'way from my door an' my window too.

I ain't goin' down to no race track
See no pony run
I don't have no pony, lord
An' i don't even want one
I can walk all the time around the block.

Well, look it here buddy
You wanna be like me
Pull out your six shooter
An' rob every bank you can see
Tell the judge that i said it was all right.

And the wind keeps a-blowin'

An' my boots on my feet
Watch out so you don't step all over me.

I feel like runnin'
Down the shinin' door
