cd imgTHE FREEWHEELIN' BOB DYLAN OUTTAKES (T-304)
cd imgGREAT WHITE WONDER Part 2 (vinyl bootleg)

The Freewhelin' Bob Dylan session 1, Columbia Studio A, NYC - 24.apr.1962, take 3

Well i was feelin' low down an' blue
I didn't know in the world what i was gonna do
Them communists they were comin' around
They were in the air
They were all over the ground
They wouldn't gimme no peace.

Well i ran down must hurriedly
An' joined the John Birch society
Got me a secret membership card
Started walkin' off down the road
Oh boy, i'm a real John Bircher now
Look out you commies!

Well we all agree with Hitler's views
Although he killed six million jews
It don't matter too much if he was a fascist
At least you can't say he was a communist
That's to say like if you got a cold
Take a shot of malaria.

Well, i was lookin' everywhere for them reds
I got up in the mornin' looked under my bed
Looked in the stove, behind the door
Looked in the glove compartment of my car
Couldn't find 'em.

Well i looked underneath everythin', behind the chair
Looking for them reds everywhere
I even looked up my chimney hole
Looked down deep inside my toilet bowl
They got away

Well, i's home alone i started to sweat
I figured they was inside my tv set
Peeked behind the picture frame
Got a shock from my feet right up to my brain
Them reds caused it !
I know they did, them hard-core ones.

Well i quit my job so i could work all alone
An' i changed my name to Sherlock Holmes
Following some clues from my detective bag
I discovered that there was red stripes in the American flag
Ol' Betsy Ross!

I investigated all the books in the library
Ninety percent of those gotta to be thrown away
Investigated all the people that i knowed
Ninety eight percent of them gotta go
The other two percent are fellow Birchers
Just like me

Now Eisenhower is a Russian spy
Roosevelt, Lincoln an' that Jefferson guy
To my knowledge there's just one man
That's really a true American
George Lincoln Rockwell
I know for a fact he hates commies
'Cause he picketed the movie Exodus.

Well i finally started thinkin' straight
When i ran outa things to investigate
Couldn't imagine anythin' else
So now you find me at home investigatin' myself
Hope i don't find nothin'
Good god!  up

Talkin' John Birch Paranoid Blues 2

9 Oct 1962
cd imgTHE ROAR OF A WAVE (T-966)
cd imgPARANOID BLUES (T-106)

Billy Faier Show, WBAI-FM radio, NYC - 9.oct.1962

I was feeling sad and kinda blue
Didn't know what in the world I was gonna do
Them communist they were comin' around
They were in the air
They were on the ground
They wouldn't gimme no peace.

So I run down most hurriedly
And joined the John Birch Society
Got me a secret membership card
Started walking off down the road
Yoo-hoo, I'm a real John Bircher now
Look out you commies!

Well we all agree with Hitler's views
Although he killed six millions Jews
It don't matter too much that he was a fascist
At least you can't say he was a communist
That's to say like if you got a cold
Take a shot of malaria.

I was lookin' everywhere for them gol-darned reds
I got up in the morning, looked under my bed
Looked in the kitchen, behind the door
Looked in the glove compartment of my car
Couldn't find them.

I's looking for them reds everywhere
Looked underneath the sofa
Underneath every chair
Looked up my chimney hole
Looked deep down inside my toilet bowl
They got away.

I was sitting home alone, I started to sweat
I figured they was in my tv set
Peeked behind the picture frame
Got a shock from my feet, hit me right up to my brain
Them reds caused it.
I know they did, them hard-core ones.

Well I quit my job so I could work all alone
And I changed my name to Sherlock Holmes
Followed some clues in my detective bag
I discovered there was red stripes in the American flag
Poor Betsy Ross.

Investigated all the books in the library
Ninety nine percent of those gotta be burned away
Investigated all the people that I know
Ninety eight percent of them gotta go
The other two percent are fellow birchers
Just like me. Truly fair.

Now Eisenhower he's a Russian spy
Lincoln, Jefferson and that Roosevelt guy
To my knowledge there's just one man
That's really a true American
George Lincoln Rockwell
I know for a fact he hates commies
Because he picketed the movie Exodus.

Well I finally started thinkin' straight
When I ran out of things to investigate
Couldn't imagine to do anything else
So now I'm home investigatin' myself
Hope I don't find out anything.

cd imgTHE BOOTLEG SERIES Vol. 9 THE WITMARK DEMOS
cd imgTHROUGH A BULLET OF LIGHT (WITMARK DEMOS) (T-378)

Witmark Studio, NYC - early 1963 (winter)

Well, i was feelin' sad an' kinda blue
I didn't know what i was gonna do
The communists was comin' around
They was in the air
They was on the ground
They was all over.

So i ran down must hurriedly
An' joined the John Birch society
Got me a secret membership card
Went back home thru the yard
Started lookin' on the sidewalk
Under the hedges.

Well i got up in the mornin'
Looked under my bed
I's lookin' every place for them gol-darned reds
Looked behind the sink an' under the floor
Looked in the glove compartment of my car
Couldn't find any.

Looked behind the close, behind the chair
Looking for them reds everywhere
Looked up my chimney hole
Even deep down inside my toilet bowl
They got away

I heard some footsteps by the front porch door
So i grabbed my shotgun from the floor
I snuck around the house with a huff 'n' a hiss
Say, "Hands up!, you communist''
It was the mail man ... he punched me out

When i's sittin' home i started to sweat
I figured they was in my tv set
I peeked behind the picture frame
Got a shock from my feet that hit my brain
Them reds did it!
Hootenany television.

Well i quit my job so i could work alone
Got a magnifying glass like Sherlock Holmes
Following some clues from my detective bag
I discovered red stripes in the American flag
Betsy Ross!

Now Eisenhower is a Russian spy
Lincoln, Jefferson an' that Roosevelt guy
To my knowledge there is just one man
That's really a truly American

The communists were comin' around
They were in the air
They were on the ground
They were all over.

So i ran down must hurriedly
An' joined the John Birch society

Went back to my backyard
Started lookin' on the sidewalk
Neath the rose bush.

Well i was lookin' everywhere
For them gol-darned reds
I got up in the mornin'
Looked under my bed
Looked behind the kitchen
Behind the door
Even torn loose the kitchen floor
Couldn't find any.

I looked beneath the sofa, beneath the chair
Looking for them reds everywhere
